Programme Overview

The objective of this Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting and Finance (E-Learning) is to provide learners with an understanding of: ​

  • Contemporary and specialised approaches to accountancy and finance
  • Key practical, theoretical and empirical issues, and academic research
  • The complexity of the ever-changing legal framework in which the financial sector operates ​
  • The latest developments in accountancy and reporting required by local and national government ​

This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop further their career in the financial services industry, professional accountancy, banking and finance or management. ​

The qualification equips students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to pursue high level careers in all types of organisations in the public and private sector and within industry and commerce and throughout a global context. ​

Module information and delivery

The programme consists of 6 modules covering:

  • Investment Analysis (20 credits)​
  • Corporate Reporting (20 credits) ​
  • Global Finance and Strategy (20 credits) ​
  • Strategic Financial Management (20 credits) ​
  • Strategic Audit (20 credits) ​
  • Advanced Research Methods (20 credits) ​

The programme is delivered over 9 months (for Full-time) and 12 months (for Part-time).

Assessment & Examination

Students are assessed with a mixture of continuous assessments throughout each module in the form of case studies, discussions, presentations, group and individual assignments, and theory tests.

In the event where a student fails a module, the student will be given a chance to resubmit their project, assignments, essays. If the student fails the resubmission, the student would need to retake the entire module (‘re-module’). Students are allowed to ‘re-module’ twice in their course of study.
 

Graduation Requirements

Students must complete 120 credits to graduate from the course. Successful candidates will be awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting and Finance issued by London Graduate School

Entry requirements, Fees and Intakes

Minimum Age: 21 years old or older at the beginning of the course

 

Academic Level: For entry onto the postgraduate diploma, learners must possess:

  • A degree in any discipline
  • A diploma in any discipline and at least 30 years old with 8 years of working experience of which 5 years of Managerial / Supervisory experience
  • Language Proficiency: At least IELTS 6.0 or a minimum C6 in English Language at GCE ‘O’ Levels or equivalent
